Bacigalupi Vineyard, Russian River Valley

The Bacigalupi Vineyard is located on Westside Road in Healdsburg.  For over a half a century, the Bacigalupi family has grown fruit in Russian River Valley.  The vineyard has planted many different clones and our particular wine comes from two of them.

The Wente clone is the oldest block in this vineyard.  This clone was brought to America by the Wente family in 1912.  This component brings a wonderful earthiness, spice and cola flavors to the wine.  It also brings a wonderful velvety mouth feel and a long mild spice finish.

The Pommard clone also came over to America from Europe and was one of the original clones brought here.  This component brings a lot of wonderful fruit aromas and flavors and also just that hint of chocolate.
